You shall be picked up from Antalya airport, Antalya hotel, Antalya Marina or the cruise ship port in Antalya. Your Antalya tour guide will be holding up a sign with your name on it. This Antalya tour will take approximately 7/8 hours and afterwards we will drive you back to your Antalya hotel , Antalya Marina , Antalya airport or Antalya harbor in Turkey.
In the morning you will be taken by your tour guide to Perge Ancient Site from the extensive remains of ancient Perge just 16 km from Antalya, it is easy to imagine what a life must have been like in this prosperous town with over 100.000 inhabitants. The Perge stadium, which seated a crowd of 12.000 has a wall at the far end that was meant to protect spectators during the wild beast fights that took place here and against the opposite hill is an impressive Theater with its features finely rendeed reliefs of Dionysus, entering through the Roman gate you will see a large Agora to your right and up ahead are two imposing Hellenistic Towers that mark the beginning of the long colonnaded avenue leading to the Nymphaeum. Just behind is the Roman Public Bath that date from the 3C AD.
After you have explored the Ancient site of Perge we will then drive to Aspendos Ancient Site, Aspendos has the most perfectly preserved Theatre in the all of the Roman world with the estimated capacity of 15.000 although in recent years more than 40.000 have been squeezed in to see Turkish wrestling and song contests.The theater is virtually as it was when first built apart from the theatre the most interesting monument in Aspendos is the Aqueduct - this brought water from the Isaurian Mountains in the North and was a tremendous feat of engineering. The remaining section consists of an arched structure 880m long and 15m high which carried the limestone water pipes and two pressure towers. It is then drive over to Seljuk bridge at Koprucay(Eurymedon) and dates from the 13’th century AD, it is still used and it was this that replaced a 2C Roman bridge whose ruins may be seen in the riverbed just a few metres to the North. A tentative reconstruction of the 5m wide Roman bridge whose central span was 9m above the water shows that large seaships could have passed underneath it on their way to the docks.
We will have our lunch in Aspendos then on to take a drive over to Side which contains all the ingredients necessary for a complete Mediterranean coast vacation such as its Hellenic ruins, parasailing, a fine Side Museum, and of course beautiful sandy beaches. When you enter Side you will see the Nymphaeum memorial fountain which once had a marble facade depicting punishments administered to those who committed sexual sin or sins against the gods. Theater of Side was built in the 2nd century CE and was built on level ground using arches - It’s the largest in the area and holds a seating area of upto 25.000 people. Other ruins are Temple of Apollo, Agora, Roman Bath and the Side Archaeological Museum. After that we will drive back to Antalya and while on the way we will make a visit to Kursunlu Waterfall.
When the tour has finished your Perge- Aspendos-Side Tour guide will then return you to your pick up point. You can take a Private Perge-Aspendos-Side Tour where you can be picked up by your Antalya Tour guide at your convienence or a Perge-Aspendos-side Group tour, where your Antalya Tour guide will pick you up at approx 09.00 hours for your Tour from Antalya.
