This 11-day tour starts and ends in Istanbul, Turkey. Whilst the ANZAC Day ceremonies are the central point of the tour it also visits, amongst other places, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Kusadasi, and 6 UNESCO Heritage sites.

Day 1 16th April Welcome to Istanbul

Day 2 17th April Istanbul Old city
After breakfast, you enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome, and the Grand Bazaar. Day 3 18th April Ankara, Cappadocia
After breakfast, drive to the nation's capital, Ankara, visit the Mausoleum of Turkey's first President, Ataturk and learn a little about why he is so revered in this country. Day 4 19th April Goreme, Underground city
Today we tour the Goreme open-air museum, Pasabag, Uchisar castle, and one of the area's fascinating underground cities, home to early Christians who hid underground from Roman persecution. Photo opportunities are everywhere so have your cameras ready! Tonight, don't miss the optional Turkish folk dance evening featuring folk and belly dancers... a night you won't forget! Day 5 20th April Konya, Caravansary
Leaving Cappadocia we head west along the old Silk Road for the stunning Aegean Coast. We take time out along the way to visit Sultanhani Caravansary and the Mevlana Whirling Dervish Museum in Konya. Overnight Pamukkale 4 star Colossae Thermal Hotel (B, D)
Day 6 21th April Pamukkale, Hierapolis
This morning we will visit the magnificent white calcium terraces, known as the Travertines, in Pamukkale where we also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. Take a dip, amongst ancient columns, in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers. Day 7 22nd April Ephesus
Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre. Day 8 23rd April Pergamum
Today we step back in time as we visit tour the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Its impressive temples and library made Pergamum a renowned cultural and political center in its time. Overnight Canakkale Special Class MD Barbaros Hotel (B, D)
Day 9 24th April Troy
Early today we tour Homer's famous Troy, home of the famed Trojan Horse. We then cross the Dardanelles and the remainder of the evening is free until we head to the Dawn Service site as soon as it is opened to the public. Here we will spend the night in nervous anticipation of the Dawn Service at 5:30 a.m. (D)
Day 10 25th April ANZAC Day at Gallipoli
Awake before sunrise for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service. We become aware of the almost deafening silence as the moving service to commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day begins. You will then have the chance to attend the Australian or New Zealand Memorial service before a late afternoon drive back to Istanbul.
