This Half Day Island tour will begin in the morning with the pickup time and place that was allocated to you upon the time of booking the tour itself. Once you have been introduced to your tour guide for the day you will then head off to your first point to see and explore which will be the Ancient Mandraki Harbor where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood and is classed to be one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world. Today only 2 columns remain in place to see up close and on these columns, there are statues of a male and a female deer that stand looking as though they are guarding the harbor from outsiders and danger. At the Mandraki Harbor, you will also be able to see the Marine Gate which was and still is one of the most beautiful city gates that lead into the Old Town. Be sure to notice the 2 semi-circular towers that have a very unique architectural feature that once served as guard towers, it is wise to capture the fascinating Medeival-styled walls that surround the Old Town of Rhodes on your cameras as it is one of the biggest habituated medieval towns in the world. Along the road to the next stop, we will make for the vantage point so that you can catch a glance of the Acropolis of Lindos in the background which here lies the remains of the Temple of Athens Lindia from the 4th Century BC.
After taking in the breathtaking views it's onwards to capture a picture of the Monte Smith, Rhodes Old Acropolis that was named after a British Admiral who used to use this site to keep an eye out on the Bay.
Once you have taken the chance to capture Monte Smith this just about wraps up your tour for today, so we will then head back to the port in Rhodes where you can re-embark your ship for departure, we trust that you have enjoyed your tour with us and we will look forward to seeing you again.
